MODERN HIP HOP, R&B AND EVEN REGGAE MUSIC CAN BE TRACED BACK TO SOULFUL
GOSPEL MUSIC. LIKEWISE, THE EXCITING NEW VOCAL GROUP ANOINTED CRUSHERS  - OR
"AC" - FOUND THEIR ROOTS IN THE LOCAL CHURCH.  BUT NOT JUST ANY CHURCH.  AC WAS
BIRTHED IN A SMALL VILLAGE CHURCH OUTSIDE KAMPALA, UGANDA.

Driving the bumpy dirt road past the neighbors on approach to the church, you wouldn't expect
to find such a talented group - one that rivals Take Six, Boys II Men or Kirk Franklin.  But for
this naturally gifted vocal foursome, an African village church was not only where they met, it's
also where they lead worship while trying out new material. AC is infectious, encouraging and
up-lifting.
AC began in 2011 when Miracle Harvest Church assistant pastor Martin Atusasire was leading
the church youth - enjoying dancing and singing, common at African churches as part of the
worship celebration. Martin's younger brother Mark Amanya was in the youth group, singing and
dancing at the time.
Victor Ssemwogerere was raised in a Christian home. After the family relocated to the village
where Miracle Harvest was located, Victor's father became prayer partners with Martin, though
they were not attending the same church. Victor soon met Martin and they talked about ministry
together. Victor began attending mid-week youth group. That's when Arthur Ahumuza showed
up. Victor and Arthur weren't initially drawn to each other. Victor says, "I didn't think Arthur was
my kind of friend."
Arthur attended church on Christmas only. In high school, a group of young people shared Christ
with him. He was interested, but mostly in the girls. Then a late night return from high school
saw Arthur needing a place to stay overnight. God divinely directed him to Miracle Harvest
where he met Victor and Martin. Arthur soon made a personal commitment to Jesus. Both
Victor and Arthur were invited to join choir. The vocal blend was immediate. Plus the two were
the only boys in the choir. That's when God knit their hearts together as close friends.
By late 2013, Martin, Mark, Arthur and Victor quickly emerged from the youth group as a special
foursome and soon began to write their own songs. Anointed Crushers means, to be set apart
or divinely appointed for ministry through praise, worship music and dance they crush the devil.
With a new name and shared vision, AC began formally rehearsing, writing and singing at their
home church.
Then in 2016, a church member helped them record several original songs. This three song
recording, including praise favorite Lift U Higher, was completed in April 2016 by producer
"Inspector" at Fire Records.
Later that year an American pastor/minister (and former mainstream music professional)
encountered AC while visiting Uganda at the village church. Impressed by the talent and
passion, AC was invited to sing at an outreach in Kamuli (a three hour drive from Kampala).

In 2017 during a follow up visit, this American friend helped launch the group's website,
anointedcrushers.com, featuring the three songs, band information, and photos. Plus, helped
raise support for two new recordings.
In March/April 2017 DKING produced these very current songs: a slow reggae statement song
Mulungi (Jesus is God) and a grooving celebration song, Fire. These were both recorded at
Nuetrique Sound.
With these new songs complete, AC headed to the local radio station and have since received
rave reviews and invitations to perform at other venues.
This group of young Ugandan believers, together known as Anointed Crushers, is enjoying
increasing ministry opportunities around Kampala, throughout Uganda and even East Africa.
Their music is gaining great interest around the world on radio, and eventually AC ministry will be
experienced worldwide.
